07:35 am: In which I have a most peculiar dream
I appeared to have discovered a secret Jedi enclave in the middle of the everyday world, where people whose lives were not completely centred on materialist things would go. There were large chambers in the four corners, with glass walls looking out at vegetation,linked by 4 corridors. I went and explored the corridors; oddly enough [info]elven_ranger was with me. I can now remember only three of these corridors, but they were most odd.

The first had dozens of glittering crystal 'doors' across them; as you walked down the corridor the air moved by your passing was funnelled by an apparatus whose Physics seems very unlikely to work, to open the doors, and also to operate some ethereal sounding crystal wind chimes. The panels were faceted so they glittered as they opened; all very beautiful. The second corridor was made of crystal panels beyound which some beautiful trees/bushes, a little like willows, with pale yellow-green leaves grew in a row; all very cool and peaceful. The third corridor, also glass, contained hundreds of ordinary everyday people, sitting on the ground meditating...and holding large carrots. Apparently they were trying to understand fully such an everyday item, because only by understanding everyday things can you understand the Force. At least that was what the bloke in Jedi robes in charge of the carrots told me. I can't help thinking that Prof Freud would have been interested by the fact that he chose carrots.

The odd thing about this enclave was that it was joined on to a large 'temple of pure consumerism' which turned out to be a big out-of-town shopping mall, the kind where you can't buy anything useful like food, only hundreds of different types of clothes and television sets. However, if you knew where the hidden entrance was, you could leave this and find the Jedi temple.

The the dream shifted and [info]elven_ranger and I were in an inn, where we were, oddly enoiugh accompanied by Frodo and Pippin. The landlord sold us McDonald's hamburgers. Then I overheard him plotting to drug our large fries and steal the One Ring, but was able to warn our party, and we escaped. (why? If I really found myself accompanying Frodo on his quest I would be the first one attacking him and taking the Ring...straight back to its rightful owner)

Even in the dream I do remember being surprised and rather disconcerted by the fact that I was wearing Jedi robes...

you mean Sith robes...right. For some odd reason, you as a jedi is not computing.

It didn't comute with me either. I looked down at myself in the dream and there I was wearing these brown robes. Even in the dream I thought 'Hey, no, that's wrong, I'm not a Lightsider...'

You know, it actually makes a great deal of sense that the Jedi Temple would be right next to the really materialistic shopping centre--one would be most likely to become wearied by consumerism whilst inundated with it, after all.

Though it is rather odd that you were a Jedi, and also not making Hobbit-kababs whilst cheerfully handing over the ring to the Nazgul.

haha youre displaying your inner lightside! Yay for Jedi temples. :) (whereever they are!)


maybe you were picking up on my ranger aspect though I am an elf not a human :). Excellent self control for not legging it with the One Ring *applauds*.

Not really. In the dream I WAS Light Side. Very odd.

Trust me, if I'd been myself, I'd have been legging it to the Morannon with the One as fast as I could ride...

That's an amazing dream. I never remember mine unless I've been drinking that night. I have very odd ones then. It's like in my drunken state I relax my mind so all the madness boils up. The dreams are usually pretty disturbing and rarely make sense.

Yes, I've been googling Raistlin icons :) Have you seen the Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight anime? Kiefer Sutherland does Raistlin Majere's voice :)

I haven't seen it yet but it sounds interesting.
