09:58 pm: In which I go birding
So, today I was tracking a scarce migrant (and scarce UK breeder, though not around here) on the East Coast. Here's where I was looking for it...guess the species anyone?

Is it the lesser spotted cement mixer?

No, the cement mixer was quite coincidental :)

I thought I could see a bird in that, then I realised it was just a smudge on the monitor.

Nah, I don't have a good enough camera to photograph birds.

So I photograph cement mixers instead.

I'm trying to think of a silly answer... but it's a scrapyard, any bird would be silly there. I think you're going to have to tell us.

It's not a scrapyard, it's a tip for bits of demolished buildings at the back of a busy caravan park.

So the answer is.....Black Redstart.

What else in a dump like that?

This confirms my assumption that my eyes aren't good enough for bird-watching.
